How often should I get my dog groomed?
We recommend staying on 6-8 week grooming schedule for most breeds to maintain healthy skin & coat. Some breeds have a higher maintenance coat we would recommend 4-6 week schedule.
Dog & Cat nail trims we recommend once per month.
What can I do to prepare for my grooming appointment?
Before your pups appointment please let them go to the washroom. All dogs must be on leash for drop off & pick up.
Bringing your dog in relaxed and happy is best. Your dog can feel your energy; try to confidently drop off and not worry this will help your dog trust us too.
Between Groomings we recommend brushing & combing your dog often, it will help keep a healthy skin and coat and avoiding matting.
How long are the grooming appointments?
Depending on the size & haircut most appointments are 1.5-3hours. During the drop off consultation we can let you know an estimate time.
Please remember we are working on animals and times can vary, rushing is unsafe. I would rather take my time and make each dog comfortable than to stress and rush a haircut.
Can I stay for my dogs appointments?
Sorry, no. Unfortunately dogs are too distracted by their owners and can't focus. For our safety and the dogs its better for the owners to leave and come back. Once you leave, your dog will bond to the groomer and relax. We will contact you as soon as your dog is ready!
What products do we use?
At Yappy Hour products we use are very important to us and always carefully chosen. We use Melanie Newman Shampoos & Conditioners for most breeds. We also offer Wellmark antifungal & antibacterial for skin problems and Wellmark dental products. Igroom coat sprays. Please feel free to ask about any products we use!
How much is my dogs grooming?
Prices vary based off breed, size, coat & haircut. Please call for quotes or during your drop off consult we can give quote too.
A la Carte Nail trims are $21 plus GST.
Cancellations & Late fees
Cancellations: We require a 24 hour cancelation notice, this allows us to fill the appointment. Less then 24hour notice is a $25 cancelation fee.
No show: (no call or notice for a cancelation) will be a $50 fee must be paid prior to rebooking.

Late: We allow a 15 minute late window. After 15 minutes we may not have enough time to complete your dogs appointment. If we can still accommodate your dog(15-30mins late) we will charge a $25 late fee. If its 30mins+ late, we cannot accommodate your dogs appointment it will count as a no show and $50 fee will apply. We understand things happen, please call ahead if you are running late or need to reschedule! (:

My dog is matted...
If you dog is matted we will discus options with you. Depending how severe the matting is will determine the length of the haircut. Very matted = Very short. We do not brush out matting, we would never want to compromise your dogs comfort, it is humanity over vanity.
